PA has a statewide resource for parents called the CONNECT Helpline. Parents who have questions about their child’s development may contact the Helpline at 1-800-692-7288. This Helpline assists families in locating resources and providing information regarding child development for children ages birth to age 5. In addition, CONNECT can assist parents by making a direct link to their local Early Intervention program or local preschool Early Intervention program.
Early Head Start/Head Start: provides high-quality, comprehensive early education, health, and family support services to pregnant women and children birth through 5 in Lehigh and Northampton counties. 610-437-6000
Parent to Parent: is an organization for parents and family members of children and adults with disabilities or special needs to be connected with others to address their situations such as: physical and developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, foster care/adoption, and educational issues. This connection is primarily made via phone and email contact. 1-888-727-2706
Pattan/EITA: provides statewide training and technical assistance on behalf of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) to the local Infant/Toddler and Preschool EI programs that provide supports/services to children birth to school age with developmental delays and/or disabilities and their families. Local agencies can be recipients of EITA training, monitoring, and technical assistance. Local agencies provide home visiting and family support services to children birth to school age and their caregivers. 610-878- 7255
ELRC: Pennsylvania’s Early Learning Resource Centers provide a single point-of-contact for families, early learning service providers, and communities to gain information and access services that support high-quality childcare and early learning programs. The ELRC provides childcare subsidy payments for low-income, working families, connects families with community services and early learning programs like Head Start, Early Head Start, Pre-K Counts and Early Intervention and provides information regarding Keystone STARs. 610-437-6000 Elrc14@cscinc.org
Unconditional Child Care: is a program that supports families, children, and childcare centers within the Lehigh/Northampton County areas when a child is struggling, and guidance, resources, and/or training is needed. The focus on the whole child and incorporate positive behavior strategies as well as social skill integration. sfeller@pbfalv.org or 610-910-8435
Lehigh Valley LICC: is a board of early intervention services providers and family members that strives to make a difference in the valley. We have quarterly meetings (Jan, April, July, Oct-3rd Thursday at 2pm) in which families can participate to bring concerns/suggestions and make effective change within Lehigh and Northampton Counties. We hold bi-annual trainings for the child care centers in our region and we also host trainings and provide connections for resources throughout the year. Resilient Lehigh Valley: is a cross-sector, collective-impact effort dedicated to increasing youth resiliency through creating a trauma-informed and resilient community. It has trained more than 4,000 educators, health and human service professions, and law enforcement members in trauma informed practices. Family Promise of the LV: is a non-profit that assists children experiencing homelessness and their families. They are composed of a network of congregations and other community resources working together to meet the immediate, basic needs, of displaced families and assist them to build patterns that will bring long-term stability. 610-351-1368 www.fplehighvalley.org
